Sega Saturn – Tempest 2000 (Jaguar Remix) ISO

A while back I released a mod of the Sega Saturn game Tempest 2000 where I replaced the arranged soundtrack with the superior (IMO) Atari Jaguar soundtrack. The website I uploaded it to (theisozone.com) was eventually shut down and the mod disappeared so I thought I’d upload it here.

Oh haiiiii! Nice to meet a fellow T2K freak! So the idea of this project was to replace the Sega Saturn OST with the superior (IMO) soundtrack of the Atari Jaguar release. Yes, both soundtracks are essentially the same but the Saturn uses the arranged version (yuck!). Personally I like the scratchy .mod soundtrack used on the Jag :)

Anyway, all the tracks from the Saturn version have been replaced with their Jaguar counterparts. The exception is track 12 which appears to be a Saturn-only track. I could have deleted it, but I left this in to avoid having silence when it plays in the game.

All the tracks have been sourced from the original .mod files, with the exception of a few which come from .ogg files I found online.

This is my first attempt at soundtrack-switching. If you find any problems please PM me on theisozone or leave a comment on my blog.

HOW TO BURN:

1. The image has been set to region (U) NTSC N.America. If you need to change open the .iso in Saturn Region Patcher and change.

2. Load the .cue in imgburn and burn on the slowest speed.

3. Play!

Gaye Bykers On Acid made their triumphant return after 25 years apart last month on their Electric Banana tour which concluded with a gig at Indie Daze 3 this past Saturday. The band were absolutely on fire delivering arguably the best set of the day. Although I never got a chance to see them during their original run (because I was like 5 years old), I’ve listened to many, many bootlegs and this weekend they played tighter than I’ve ever heard them. The set included songs from their earliest EP right through to their final work as PFX. Much thanks to Stef Cunningham for this excellent recording. Newcastle and Leicester recordings to follow!

Big Buddha – Be Here Now (CD Single 1997)

Formed by Karl Leiker (Bugblot, Hyperhead) and Richard Norris (The Grid), Big Buddha released one single in 1997 named Be Here Now. The track mixes drum n’ bass along with psychadelic Hammond organ riffs and guitar riffs. Great track and it’s a shame they never released anything else!
